1. REGULAR ARMY NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICER SLC AND MLC SCHEDULING AS OF JUNE 2023. To provide transparency and manage expectations, HRC Military Schools Branch releases monthly statistics of Soldiers scheduled for SLC/MLC by Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and the Evaluation Board Order of Merit List (OML). These numbers reflect the last OML number that has been used to schedule a Soldier in June 2023 by MOS. 2. HRC ARMY RESERVE HEALTH SERVICES DIVISION AMEDD SYMPOSIUM. The HRC Army Reserve Health Services Division AMEDD Symposium will be held on 20 July 2023 at 2000 EDT via Microsoft Teams. The AMEDD Symposium is meant to provide career significant information to Reserve Component AMEDD Officers and all organizations who have the responsibility to support Reserve Component AMEDD officers. 3. Just wondering if someone can help me interpret the career mapping section of the Soldier Talent Profile. I've been looking for documents that break it down but I can't seem to find any. Any help would be appreciated.      b. IPPS-A SOP OR HOW-TO FOR COMMANDERS. Does anyone already have either a checklist or a full SOP laying out unit commander responsibilities in IPPS-A?  Looking for a how-to for our new commanders and making sure they action all of the items they're supposed to every month. 5. BRANCH/COMMAND ITEMS.      a. ARCTIC SKILL IDENTIFIERS (SI) AND ADDITIONAL SKILL IDENTIFIERS (ASI). From the 11th Abn Div G-1:  Did you thrive in Alaska's extreme cold weather and high-altitude environment? Did you complete Cold Weather Indoctrination and Certification Courses with your unit or the Northern Warfare Training Center (NWTC) during your tour in Alaska? In August 2022, the Arctic Skill Identifiers (SI) and Additional Skill Identifiers (ASI) E2, E9, J1 and J6 were approved for successful completion of cold weather courses in Alaska. See the attached guide (following link) for how to submit a request for Arctic SI/ASI and also for qualifications, restrictions, and exceptions. 6. Recently published Army Directives and All Army Activity (ALARACT) messages. New ALARACTs and ADs are also posted on APD at the following link.      a. ARMY DIRECTIVE 2023-13, PROCESSING OF PERSONAL EFFECTS BY THE JOINT PERSONAL EFFECTS DEPOT, 7 JUL 23. This directive assigns authorities and responsibilities to the Joint Personal Effects Depot (JPED) for the screening of personal effects (PE) of deceased service members. 7. Recently published Military Personnel (MILPER) messages and Military Pay Messages.       a. MILPER MESSAGE 23-260, SPECIAL MOS ALIGNMENT PROMOTION PROGRAM (SMAPP), ISSUED: [7/11/2023 8:07:33 AM]. Soldiers serving in the Regular Army (RA) may reclassify into specific critical military occupational specialties (MOS) identified in the SMAPP. Promotion of Soldiers reclassified into a SMAPP-designated MOS will be effective on the date of graduation from the MOS-qualifying school, which occurs after all training phases are completed and the MOS is awarded, provided they are otherwise eligible.      b. MILPER MESSAGE 23-261, SCHOOL OF ADVANCED MILITARY STUDIES (SAMS) CALL FOR APPLICANTS FOR THE CLASS OF 2025 ADVANCED MILITARY STUDIES PROGRAM (AMSP), ISSUED: [7/11/2023 11:02:27 AM]. This message outlines the application and selection process for the Advanced Military Studies Program (AMSP) of the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This selection will source the student body for the AMSP 2025 Course, which begins on 25 June 2024 and ends on 22 May 2025.      c. MILPER MESSAGE 23-262, UNKNOWN (AUN) DUTY STATUS CODE, ISSUED: [7/11/2023 2:03:36 PM]. This MILPER message supersedes MILPER message 20-412, SAMR-ZA ASA (MRA), issued 8 December 2020. The purpose of this message is to provide continued guidance for processing procedures for the implementation and use of the duty status code “Unknown” (AUN) as directed in Army Directive 2020-16.      d. MILPER MESSAGE 23-263, AMENDMENT TO MILPER 23-178 UPDATED IMPLEMENTATION GUIDANCE FOR EARLY PROMOTION UNDER THE SOLDIER REFERRAL PROGRAM AND THE ARMY RECRUITING RIBBON, ISSUED: [7/11/2023 2:15:51 PM]. This message is to announce the guidance for the award of the Army Recruiting Ribbon to contracted cadets. Only cadets of the U.S. Military Academy or cadets under contract with Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) are eligible to receive the Army Recruiting Ribbon for successful referrals. Contracted cadets are allowed to wear the Army Recruiting Ribbon on their cadet uniform and on their Army uniform upon accession into any Component. However, contracted cadets cannot wear the Army Recruiting Ribbon with their cadet ribbons; they must either wear their active federal service ribbons or their cadet ribbons. Non-contracted cadets are ineligible for the Army Recruiting Ribbon unless they are currently enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve or U.S. Army National Guard. In that case, the Army Recruiting Ribbon will be awarded by the U.S. Army Human Resources Command through the current process. 8. FORSCOM WIAS POSITIONS (UPDATED A/O 7 JUL 23).
