S1NET Message Summary - 30 Aug 23

1. SELF-INITIATED REFERRAL PROCESS FOR MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATIONS OF SOLDIERS, 29 AUG 23. This memo from the Secretary of the Army announces procedures for Soldiers to self-initiate a non-emergent referral for a mental health evaluation (MHE). 2. COMMAND ASSESSMENT PROGRAM (CAP25) PEER AND SUBORDINATE ASSESSMENT REQUESTS. Last week, the Command Assessment Program (CAP25) began its peer and subordinate assessment collections for this year’s CAP candidates. This process continues over the next several weeks and is an integral step in developing a holistic picture of each candidate’s leadership and interpersonal talents. This year we used an expanded search process to locate peers and subordinates, as the Army does not have any exact mechanism for identifying peers and subordinates over the course of a Soldier’s career. As a result, many personnel are receiving feedback requests for leaders they may not know. If you receive such a request, simply login, select the option to abstain, and cite you do not know that leader. This will end the assessment and prevent further emails requesting your feedback on that candidate. Visit the following link for more information. 3. HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY (HQDA) FISCAL YEAR 2024 (FY24) NONCOMMISSIONED OFFICER (NCO) EVALUATION BOARDS, 28 AUG 23. From the Army G-1: This memo from the Army G-1 advises that the policies established in 2022 for NCO Evaluation Boards are extended 12 months to apply to Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) boards or until such time a revised AR 600-8-19 is finalized and published, if sooner. 4.
