Potential Cancellation of CA Requests: 18 Nov 2023

Subject: Potential Cancellation of Credentialing Assistance (CA) Requests Beginning 18 Nov 2023

If Congress does not pass a Budget or Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund governmental operations on or before 17 Nov, the Army will not be able to approve and pay for all CA Requests submitted to ArmyIgnitED for courses or exams that start during the government shutdown.

***To avoid potential cancellations, Soldiers are highly encouraged to not select start dates from 18 Nov 2023 through 1 Dec 2023***

Beginning 17 Nov, HQ ACCESS will start cancelling all CA Requests with a course or exam start date of 18 Nov 2023.  HQ ACCESS will conduct a rolling/reoccurring, day to day cancellation of CA Requests throughout the government shut down, until either a Budget or a Continuing Resolution is approved by Congress and signed by the President.

        • ACCESS will notify those Soldiers whose CA Requests were canceled due to the government shutdown through ArmyIgnitED Messaging.

        • Soldiers whose CA Requests were canceled due to the government shutdown must submit a new CA Request dated at least 45 days and not to exceed 90 days from the start date of the course or exam.

        • Soldiers whose CA Requests were canceled due to the government shutdown will not be able to get retroactive CA to pay for courses or exams that started during the government shutdown.

        • Soldiers FY funding limit will be automatically reset to reflect total allowable amount remaining after cancelation.
