INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING

The documents listed below ARE THE ONLY AUTHORIZED documents to be submitted. If any of the required documents are not reasonably available to you, a brief letter will be submitted citing the documents missing with a short explanation necessary to certify the soldier as eligible. Failure to do so may result in a finding of ineligibility and may cause the applicant to lose consideration for this position.

  1. NGB 34-1 (dated 20131111) must be complete with original signature and memos (Must submit explanation memos for yes selections except for question #9 and #17).
  2. Security Clearance Verification Memo
  3. Photocopy of last 5 OERs (Must submit memos for gaps in OERs).
  4. Medical Protection System Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) dated within the last 12 months.
  5. Report from ATIS showing passing AFT and Height/Weight within the last six months (DA 705 and DA 5500/5501 accepted in lieu of ATIS report)
  6. DA 5016 from My Retirement Points tile on IPPS-A or most recent NGB 23A (RPAM) from iPERMS
  7. Soldier Talent Profile (STP) dated within 3 months.
  8. Copy of all DD214’s/NGB 22’s showing all prior service.
  9. Profiles must be attached if applicable. Pregnancy itself is not a disqualifier.
  10. Exception to Policy (ETP) memo for AGR Soldiers who are under 36 months in their current assignment.

POSITION COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The individual(s) must qualify for and be placed in the following compatible MOS/AOC: 14A

MINIMUM APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS

  1. Any MOS is open to apply.
  2. Applicant must be 14A certified with a T3 ASI or have the ability to become 14A certified within 12 months.
  3. Must become Air Defense Artillery (14 series MOS) and Ground-based Midcourse Defense (ASI T3) qualified within 12 months of hire.
  4. Applicant must have current Secret security clearance and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret within 12 months of hire
  5. PCS funds subject to availability.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

Director of the Missile Defense Element for the 100th Missile Defense Brigade (GMD). Responsible for routine and combat operations of the globally dispersed multi-billion-dollar GMD Fire Control (GFC) system and supporting assets to accomplish United States Northern Command’s (USNORTHCOM) strategic mission to defend the United States from an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) attack. Serve as the primary interface for operational and tactical execution of the mission ISO North American Aerospace Defense command. Supervise all activities of the GMD system to include readiness, operational employment, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) tests and exercises.

Provide direct supervision for the MDE crew working at the Missile Defense Integration Operation Center (MDIOC) at Schriever AFB, CO. Provide operational oversight of the Fire Direction Center (FDC) in Ft. Greely, AK, and Detachment 1 at Vandenberg AFB, CA.
