S1NET Message Summary - 13 Sep 22

1. NEW SOLDIER SUPPORT INSTITUTE COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR. From the Army G-1 SGM:  On behalf of the Sergeant Major of the Army, we are pleased to announce that Command Sergeant Major Justin E. Turner, U.S. Army Garrison Japan, Camp Zama, Japan, has been selected as the Command Sergeant Major, Soldier Support Institute, Fort Jackson, SC. Please pass on your congratulations to Justin and his Spouse Royall. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1187347 2. INTERIM USARC G-1 GUIDANCE: IPPS-A BROWNOUT/CUTOVER (BOCO) DELAY. From the USARC G-1: As of today (9 Sep 22), Army Senior Leaders have not published further official guidance on the impact of the current IPPS-A Brownout/Cutover (BOCO) delay. As the USARC G-1, my intent is to minimize disruption to Soldiers and HR operations, and therefore, the interim USARC guidance is to continue to process RLAS orders and actions.  Do not hold or delay any actions as our current systems remain fully operational. We expect an official announcement soon from HQDA and will adjust guidance as required. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1186430 3. ANNOUNCEMENT OF BRANCH TRANSFER PROCESS FOR ARMY RESERVE ARMY MEDICAL DEPARTMENT (AMEDD) OFFICERS. This is a reminder from USAR MEDCOM that MILPER Message 22-023, SAB, dated 1/13/2022 provides Army Reserve AMEDD officers a clear and concise branch-transfer process to retain officers via branch transfer into basic branches and to minimize the number of AMEDD officers separated due to twice being non-selected for promotion. This MILPER message applies to all Army Reserve AMEDD officers; however, Medical Service (MS) officers are in an unprecedented over-strength status. Consequently, hundreds of MS officers face separation from the Army Reserve within the next 5 years due to an excess of over 900 officers in the ranks of 2LT through CPT. See the message for more information. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1099247 4. ARMY MEDICAL DEPARTMENT (AMEDD) 30-YEAR MEDALLION POLICY GUIDANCE. This is a reminder of subject medallion policy. The AMEDD 30-Year Medallion is awarded by The Surgeon General/Commander, U.S. Army Medical Command (TSG/CG, MEDCOM) to recognize a long-standing tradition of exceptional service by Soldiers and Civilians of the AMEDD. Commanders and Corps Chiefs are encouraged to recommend all eligible AMEDD Soldiers/Civilians for this award. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1186426 5. IPPS-A Items.      a.
