SUBJECT: Anny Directive 2025-01 (Rescission of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and
Accessibility Policies and Programs)

2. Purpose. This directive implements references a through c.
3. Applicability. This directive applies to the Regular Anny, the Army National Guard/Anny
National Guard of the United States, the U.S. Anny Reserve, and all Department of the Anny
Civilians.
4. Policy.
a. Effective immediately, all references to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
(DEVDEIA) policies and programs that are prescribed in an Anny Regulation, Anny Directive,
and any other Anny publication or memorandum of instruction are rescinded.
b. DEVDEIA does not include Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Military Equal
Opportunity (MEO), and Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault Prevention (SHARP) policies
and programs. The EEO, MEO, and S_HARP programs are distinct policies and programs
mandated by various statutes and rules, including United States Code (U.S.C.) Title 42, Section
2000e et seq.; 29 U.S.C. §701; 10 U.S.C. §1561; 10 U.S.C. §1561b; 10 U.S.C. §1034; and Code
of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) Title 29, Section 1614.102 et seq.
SUBJECT: Army Directive 2025-01 (Rescission of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and
Accessibility Policies and Programs)
c. DEI programs and policies are considered policies and programs that were implemented
directly in response to Executive Order 14035.
5. Responsibilities.
a. Commanders and Directors shall review their internal policies and training material, in
coordination with their servicing legal advisor, to comply with this directive.
b. Within 5 days, all proponents of an Army publication will review the policy for which
they are the proponent and report to the DAS whether a policy has DEI/DEIA material. If there is
DEI/DEIA material, the proponent will initiate an expedited revision and remove the material
within 15 days. Only changes necessary to implement this directive are authorized. This will
ensure an expeditious revision of the publication.
6. Proponent. The Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs is the
proponent for this directive.
7. Duration. This directive remains in effect until rescinded by the Secretary of the Army or the
Under Secretary of the Army.
