1. This MILPER message expires NLT 18 April 2026.
2.
This message announces three major changes to the Army Active
Component (AC) Judge Advocate General’s Corps’ (JAGC) process to
identify officers for Senior Service College (SSC) attendance, and every
officer should understand the ramifications in their own individual
careers.
a. Officers must opt into consideration for attendance
at SSC. Any officer who does not opt-in will not be considered. See
paragraph 5 below.
b. The FY25 Army AC JAGC SSC Board will
designate Principal and Alternates. The JAGC will not publish the
Principal and Alternate list; however, the Principal and Alternate lists
will be used to slate officers. The Office of the Judge Advocate
General (OTJAG) Talent Management Office (TMO) will identify available
officers. The Judge Advocate General (TJAG) will slate available
officers to school until all allocated quotas are exhausted or the end
of the OML is reached. This ensures the best qualified and available
officers attend SSC each year.
c. The eligible population has shifted to include more junior Lieutenant Colonels. See para 6 for further details.
