SUBJECT: Amendment to Army Policy on Cybersecurity and Privacy Training
Frequency
1. References.
a. AR 25-22 (Army Privacy and Civil Liberties Program).
b. AR 25-2 (Army Cybersecurity).
c. Secretary of War memorandum (Reduction of Mandatory Training Requirements
to Restore Mission Focus), 30 September 2025.
2. Purpose. The purpose of this memorandum is to announce a change to the required
frequency of mandatory privacy and cybersecurity training for all Army personnel.
3. Applicability. This policy applies to all Army military and civilian personnel.
4. Directive. In accordance with the Secretary of War (SoW) Memorandum, Reduction
of Mandatory Training Requirements to Restore Mission Focus, the frequency for the
below requirements have been amended as follows:
Training Type New Requirement Frequency
Cybersecurity Once every five years
Privacy Once every five years
5. This office will adjust the training frequency as needed based on updates from the
Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) Principle and revisions to Department of Defense
Instructions (DoDIs).
6. Effective Date. This memorandum is effective immediately until it is rescinded.
