1. This MILPER message is effective upon release and will expire NLT 1 August 2027.
2. This message announces the procedures for active component U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps Warrant Officers requesting consideration for the Training with industry (TWI) partnership. Training With Industry is managed by the U.S. Army Quartermaster School Office of the Quartermaster Commandant (OQMC).
3. The Quartermaster Corps Training with Industry program includes four (4) Warrant Officer TWI opportunities available to MOS 920B, 921A, 922A, and 923A (CW2-CW3).
a. TWI offers a one-year assignment where the selected WO is afforded the opportunity to gain career-specific experience with leading industry partners. TWI participants gain critical on-the-job experience and skills in industrial practices and procedures not available through other military or civilian programs.
(1) MOS 920B: One position partnering with United Parcel Service (UPS) in Atlanta, GA. The participant will gain one year of experience working with advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools. This training will improve skills in inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and loss prevention, optimizing their utilization to support the Army’s mission objectives. The projected utilization assignment will be CD Staff Tech, Fort Lee, VA.
(2) MOS 921A: One position partnering with Airborne Systems North America in Pennsauken, New Jersey. The participant will gain one year of in-depth exposure to advanced aerial delivery technologies, parachute design, and precision airdrop systems that directly complement their military expertise. The projected utilization assignment will be CD Staff Tech Air DLVY, Fort Lee, VA.
(3) MOS 922A: One position partnering with Compass Group, USA in Charlotte, North Carolina. This one-year training experience will provide exposure to industry’s best practices in food program development, enhancement, and management. The intent is to foster innovative solutions for Army Food Management programs, improve operational efficiencies, and promote healthier food options as the Army transitions to tactical feeding operations. The projected utilization assignment will be Food Service Tech, Fort Lee, VA.
(4) MOS 923A: One position partnering with ExxonMobil in Spring, Texas. The participant will gain industry experience with ExxonMobil business operations, as well as global refining and distribution networks, Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (JLOTS) / Petroleum Over-the-Shore operations, multi-Domain petroleum operations, petroleum additives, and environmental procedures/practices. The projected utilization assignment will be Capabilities Developer, Fort Lee, VA
b. Following the completion of one year of industry experience, TWI WOs will serve a 36-month utilization tour in an AERS coded position, varying from operational to strategic level sustainment organization. Follow-on assignments are subject to change based on the needs of the Army and the Quartermaster Corps. This equates to approximately 48 months served within the QM TWI program.
4. Human Resources Command Career Managers will screen applications to determine eligibility and potential for promotion. US Army Quartermaster School OQMC will conduct a TWI Selection board to select the best-qualified WO for each program.
5. Application timeline for the QMS FY27 Training with Industry Program:
a. 01 May 2026: Application window opens
b. 15 August 2026: Application window closes
c. 01 September 2026 (approximately): TWI selection board completes application assessments with results sent to HRC
d. 01 October 2026 (approximately): HRC published TWI Board Results
e. 01 August 2027 (approximately): Selectees report to respective industry
f. 01 August 2028 (approximately): Selected participants report to projected utilization assignment
g. 01 August 2031 (approximately): FY27 TWI utilization complete
6. Eligibility Criteria.
a. CW2 with three (3) years TIG and above (Waiverable)
b. Must have completed the Warrant Officer Intermediate Course (WOIC) or Warrant Officer Advanced Course (WOAC) (Non-waiverable)
c. Applicants must be able to serve 1 year in the industry and 36 months at utilization totaling 48 months
d. Meet Height/Weight standards IAW AR 600-9
e. Must not have been passed over for promotion to the next grade
f. Must not be flagged, pending adverse action, pending MEB, pending voluntary/involuntary separation
