1. This message will expire no later than (NLT) 01 May 2027.

2. The purpose of this message is to announce the Adjutant General (AG) Training with Industry (TWI) opportunities and application instructions for FY27.

3. This message pertains to Active Component AG Branch 42 series Officers, Warrant Officers, and Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs) only.

4. The Training with Industry program is a work-experience program providing extensive exposure to emerging technologies, managerial techniques, and industrial procedures within various technical sectors to competitively selected Soldiers. Training received is not available through either existing military school or advanced civilian education programs.

5. Eligibility Criteria (Officer, Warrant Officer, Noncommissioned Officer).

a. Soldiers with less than one year time-on-station as of 30 September 2026 are not eligible for the program (in accordance with AR 614-100).

b. Applicants must enter TWI program prior to attaining 20 years of Active Federal Service (AFS).

c. Must not be flagged, pending adverse action, pending Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), or pending voluntary or involuntary separation.

d. Must meet Army Body Composition Program and Standards in accordance with (IAW) Army Directive 2026-13 and AR 600-9.

e. Participation in TWI should hinder career progression or opportunity for promotion to the next higher grade.

f. A minimum of a current Secret security clearance is required. 

g. Must not have been passed over for promotion to the next grade.

h. Must have outstanding potential for future service and proven demonstration of outstanding performance.

i. Professional Military Education and development.

(1) Officers: CPT-MAJ. Must be complete with key developmental (KD) and professional military education (PME) requirements at grade level.

(2) Warrant Officers: CW2-CW4. complete with key developmental and professional military education requirements at grade level.

(3) Noncommissioned Officers: E6-E8. Must be complete with key leadership/career developmental and PME requirements at grade level. 

j. Warrant Officers must have a minimum of four years continuous AFS as a Warrant officer prior to requesting attendance.

6. Applicants should have an interest in PeopleSoft and/or Workday interfaces and data collection/distribution. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate familiarity with data concepts: data science, data analysis, data mining, data literacy, etc. Additionally, demonstrating an understanding of strategic planning, operations, and business Human Resources (HR) development strategies. Activities include learning business operations and structures, partnering on deploying initiatives, maintaining data organization, providing analysis, and customer support operations. Applicants will be expected to display intermediate knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, HR analytics, and training programs. A working knowledge or interest in payroll, advance analytics, information technology (IT) infrastructure, and software development operations would be preferred. Best qualified candidates will have advanced knowledge of data and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML). Candidates may demonstrate knowledge through many different avenues (i.e. self-developed, credentials, college degrees).

8. Application Packets.

a. Eligible Soldiers must submit their packet through the Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army (IPPS-A), Personnel Action Request (PAR): 

(1) In the request details, select “Admin Records Corrections” from the action drop down menu, and “Other” from the reason drop down. The effective date will remain the PAR creation date. Insert “AG TWI FY27” in the Other Type field. 

(2) The PAR must be endorsed by the first O-5 in the applicant’s chain of command and routed to the final approval authority at: User List ID (UDL) 000000000056612, ARACA_AG_PLDD, AG TWI FY27.

b. The following narrative must be included in the PAR. 

(1) “I meet all eligibility criteria.”

(2) “I understand I will incur an additional Active-Duty Service Obligation (ADSO) IAW AR 350-100. I understand that this ADSO will be served consecutively with any other ADSOs.”

(3) “I understand that I will serve an Army Educational Requirement (AERS) utilization tour following ACS/TWI, IAW AR 621-1, to fulfill Army and Adjutant General mission requirements and will not participate in the Assignment Marketplace until the utilization tour is complete.”

(4) Statement requesting any applicable Continental United States (CONUS) stability break, Foreign Service Tour curtailment/extension, or waiver of post-deployment stabilization, if applicable

 (5) Order of preference of programs. Rank order based off the proposed list in #7 above.

c. The following documents are required attachments to the PAR:

(1) Legible, self-signed memorandum, IAW AR 25-50, stating why the Officer/NCO wants to pursue TWI. 

(2) Two letters of recommendation to the panel. One of which must be from the current G1 that the applicant falls under. 

(3) Last two record Army Fitness Test (AFT) recorded on a DA Form 705-TEST and if required, the Body Fat Content Worksheet (DA form 5500/5501). Note: Any AFT conducted on or after 1July 2026 must be accompanied by a DA Form 5500, dated JUL 2026 (Army Body Composition Screening and Assessment Worksheet) only.

(4) Last five Evaluation Reports (NCOERs/OERs).

(5) Copies of any advanced certifications and college degree/transcripts.

(6) Completed plan of action outlining how participant will strengthen the AG Corps through their newly acquired knowledge, skills, and experience post TWI.

(7) Soldier Talent Profile (STP)

9. Screening. Participation in AG Branch programs is contingent on panel selection. The AG TWI Program panel will screen applications to determine eligibility and completeness to select the best qualified applicants. The AG Proponent will slate selectees to TWI Programs and Utilization Tours and notify Human Resources Command, AG Branch selectees for assignment processing. Approval of the PAR is acceptance of the packet not acceptance into the TWI program.

10. Program tenure/location: All selected personnel will be assigned to Student Detachment, Fort Jackson, SC, with duty at the host organization.

11. In accordance with AR 350-100, officers who complete formal education or training programs incur an ADSO. All officers who attend any of these programs incur an ADSO through the scheduled program graduation date or through the date on which consecutively scheduled education is to be completed, whichever is later. The ADSO equals three times the length of the program, computed in days, but not more than three (3) years. This ADSO will be served consecutively to time spent in the program but will be concurrently served. Requests for branch transfers or functional area designation will not be considered until after the completion of the utilization tour. In accordance with TWI eligibility and application requirements, total Service Remaining Requirement (SRR) is three years from report date to the industry. One year assignment with the industry and two-year utilization assignment immediately following.

12. All officers and NCOs participating in the TWI Program incur a mandatory utilization assignment to be served immediately following completion of the program at their respective organization. IAW AR 621-1, the TWI utilization obligation will be for a minimum of 24 consecutive months.

13. In accordance with AR 621-1, the Service Member will serve an AERS utilization.

14. During TWI, a mentor associated to the utilization tour will sponsor and guide the TWI participant during the experience and assist in onboarding for the utilization tour.

15. AG TWI Application and Selection Timeline.

a. Deadline for all applications. 31 1700 (EDT) August 2026: to User List ID (UDL) 000000000056612, ARACA_AG_PLDD, AG TWI FY27. 

b. Selection board convenes. September 2026.

c. AG Program releases results to applicants, key broadening, and talent management stakeholders. Late September 2026.

d. No later than report date for TWI program. July – August 2027.
