Who may apply
The controlling Montana Army National Guard announcement states that the position is open to current members of the Montana Army National Guard, including AGR Soldiers under initial stabilization. The minimum grade to apply is E5/SGT. Applicants do not need to already hold MOS 92Y, but the selected Soldier must become MOS-qualified within 12 months of the AGR start date. Applicants must also be able to obtain a SECRET clearance.
Application requirements
Applicants must meet the stated eligibility requirements by the closing date. The official announcement requires a letter of intent, Soldier Talent Profile, current medical-readiness documentation, the most recent fitness-test record, body-composition documentation, and the last three evaluation reports. Area I applicants who are currently MTARNG AGR also provide a biographical sketch and, when applicable, a stabilization waiver. Area II applicants provide an NGB Form 34-1 and the additional service and profile records specified in the announcement.
Emailed applications are preferred. The official announcement says emailed documents must be PDF files, no more than two attachments, and should not exceed 12 MB. Emailed packets must be received before 2400 Mountain Standard Time on the closing date; hand-carried packets must reach the HRO AGR Branch by 1630. Incomplete or late packets are not forwarded to the selecting official.
Tour conditions
