1. INFORMATION ON THRIFT SAVINGS PLAN (TSP) LIMITS AND CATCH-UP OR
“SPILLOVER” CONTRIBUTIONS FOR MILITARY MEMBERS. From DFAS: DFAS recently
posted information for Military Members regarding the new Thrift
Savings Plan (TSP) Limits and Catch-up or “Spillover” Contributions on

DFAS will also issue a SmartDoc to all military members later this
month. Background: The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board
implemented a new method for TSP Catch-up contributions in 2021 called
TSP Spillover. The new method eliminates the requirement for TSP
participants age 50 and over to make a separate election in order to
exceed the Elective Deferral Limit (EDL). If a participant exceeds the
EDL, the excess contributions to the TSP account should automatically
“spillover” into the participant’s TSP account. The EDL is $19,500 for
2021, TSP participants over 50 years of age can contribute up to
$26,000. TSP participants less than 50 years of age are not eligible to

2. IPPS-A HR SUMMIT: FORT HOOD 20 – 21 JULY. In support of the Army-wide
effort to train and implement the IPPS-A system, the Fort Hood Senior
Commander will host an in-person HR Transformation Summit on 20 and 21
July 2021. The HQDA IPPS-A team will deliver the HR Summit to various
stakeholders to prepare the Fort Hood AOR for IPPS-A R3 “Go Live” on 21
