BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ability to solve complaints by listening and providing assistance to the complainant in identifying problems. Have skill to evaluate complaints; seek advice and assistance where necessary for resolution and provide appropriate response to management.
- Ability to conduct interviews, establish and maintain effective relationships with service members, supervisors, employees, administrative and operating officials.
- Conduct formal/informal training or instruction involving military personnel and civilian employees to assist in correcting procedures and processes.
- Knowledge of operational and organizational areas. Capable of identifying, analyzing, and evaluating findings resulting from inspections.
- Develop inquiry and investigation plans to include Inspector General directives and tasks.
- Ability to perform systematic to determine underlying cause(s) and direct corrective actions to comprehensively resolve issues.
- Plan special, general and follow-up inspections by determining inspection topics and the need for required assistance.
- Apply best practices, theories, techniques and systematic inspection methodology.
- Assist the commander in planning, coordinating and supervising all activities that support the unit mission.
INITIAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants MUST meet ALL initial eligibility requirements to become a member of the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Program outlined in NGR 600-5 and AR 135-18, Page 3, Table 2-1. Individuals who have been separated from other military services for cause, unsuitability or unfitness for Military service are not eligible to enter the AGR program without an approved waiver (If Applicable).
- Must hold a valid security clearance: SECRET
- Must be willing to reside in (relocate to) and work in the JBER, Alaska commuting area for a 3 year tour.
- Physical Profile: Have an “A” or “B” profile seriel code and a “1” under the “S” factor for physical profile.
- Must have 36 months of service remaining on contract OR be eligible to extend or reenlist (see AR 601-280).
- Must meet current Army Physical Fitness Requirements IAW AR 350-1 and height/weight standards as prescribed by AR 600-9. If a new accession into the AGR Program, must have passed a record Army Fitness Test within the last 6 months, per AR 135-18, Table 2-1 Rule B.
- Must have no record of punishment under UCMJ, Article 15; conviction by Court-Martial; General Officer Letter of reprimand filed in the official military personnel file; time lost during current enlistment; derogatory information contained in IG records as screened by the U.S Army Inspector General Agency; or civil convictions (except minor offenses).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Holds an Associates degree.
- Holds the SQI B.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT CRITERIA
If selected for this position, be advised that you may lose your military signing bonus if payment has not been completed and you may lose some of your G.I Bill benefits if currently in use. If selected for this position approval of Command Sponsorship through the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) evaluation may be required. Continuation beyond Initial 3 year tour will be subject to evaluation based on AGR Subsequent Tour Continuation Board. If applicable, selectee does not possess the advertised MOS, he/she must complete the required training/assignment criteria within 12 months of being assigned to the position. Failure to do so may result in immediate termination from the AGR program. Extension past 12 months will only be considered if the delay is through no fault of the selectee.
All non-MS applicants understand that DoW and DA regulations require an officer who is reappointed into AMEDD have their rank and date of rank recalculated at 1/2 credit for all commissioned service normally resulting in a decrease in their current rank by one grade and that there are no exceptions. There is a three year Mandatory Service Obligation for accepting a position with the Civil Support Team (CST).
