1. This message applies to Regular Army Enlisted Soldiers who hold the Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) of 35G and 12Y. It expires no later than 30 March 2027.
2. The purpose of this message is to announce the upcoming GEOINT Career Advancement Program (GCAP) opportunities and application instructions for FY27. The GCAP is a 24-month immersion program at the NGA Campus East (NCE) in Springfield, VA, designed to enhance GEOINT expertise and develop advanced GEOINT career tradecraft in Junior NCOs.
a. Program participants in MOS 35G will expand their knowledge and skills in imagery analysis, collection management, reporting and dissemination, research, and support to military operations and targeting to include Target Mensuration Program (TMP). Participants in MOS 12Y will expand their knowledge and skills in geospatial analysis, cartography and geospatial data, research, and support to military operations, feature extraction and map finishing.
b. Participants will complete a 6-month academic period at NGA College within NCE and then rotate between operational field tours including: Analysis, Source, and Broadening at NCE.
c. Participants will complete GEOINT Proficiency Certification according to MOS: (35G) GEOINT Foundation, Imagery Analyst Level II and TMP certification, (12Y) GEOINT Foundation and Geospatial Analyst. Time for Professional Military Education (PME), if selected to attend, is built into GCAP.
3. Scholarship Tenure/Location: Participants are assigned to NCE at 7500 GEOINT Drive, Springfield, VA 22150. Program begins 1 July 2027 and completes 1 July 2029.
4. Utilization: GCAP will notify HRC Talent Managers 12 months prior to graduation in order to align follow-on assignments. Graduates will fill a 36-month utilization assignment to support the Army enterprise based on HRC-validated requirements at the CORPS and above level. These assignments will be strategically tailored to leverage the specialized skills and knowledge acquired during the program. This alignment ensures that graduates are placed in roles where they can have the most significant impact on Army operations and strategic objectives.
5. Program Eligibility Criteria and Applicant Considerations: Soldiers in the rank of SPC(P) or SGT with less than 15 months TIG at time of application.
a. Soldier must have a passing DA Form 705-AFT dated within 6-months of time of application.
b. Soldier must have a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from their Senior Enlisted Leader or civilian equivalent. SM must have a LOR from a Warrant Officer, Mission Manager, or Senior Analyst. Both LORs are mandatory for packet submission.
c. Eligible Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs) must include all applicable Noncommissioned Officer Evaluation Reports (NCOERs).
d. SM must have 36-Months retainability on contract upon graduation 30 MAY 2029.
e. Applicants must have a fully adjudicated TS-SCI clearance at the time of the packet submission.

g. Results will not be released via telephone. All applicants, whether selected or not, will be notified through appropriate command channels. Letters of notification will be sent out from HRC on or about 10 November 2026.
h. Please note that acceptance of packets through IPPS-A is simply the initial step in gathering submissions, it does not indicate selection.
