1. This message will expire NLT 30 SEP 2027.
2. Purpose: This message solicits applications for the FY 2026-27 Army Medical Service Corps (MS) United States Army Reserve (USAR) and Army National Guard (ARNG) to Regular Army (RA) Transfer Program.
3. Selection Process: Eligible Area of Concentrations (AOC) and Promotion Year Groups (PYG) are listed in paragraph five. Health Services Division (HSD), United States Recruiting Command will convene competitive accession boards throughout Fiscal Year 26-27 to consider qualified applicants for selection and accession of USAR/ARNG MS officers to RA. Applicants will be considered based on individual merit and supporting documentation as specified in the below paragraphs.
4. General Guidance:
a. Active Duty Service Obligation (ADSO): Officers will incur a 36-month ADSO to the U.S. Army.
b. Timeline:
(1) Starting 1 July 2026: Application window opens.
(2) 27 August 2027: Application window closes
(3) 1 July 2026 – 27 August 2027: ARNG/USAR officers will submit completed packets to the MS Program Manager, HSD USAREC IAW paragraph 6 to verify application eligibility.
(4) Monthly:
(a) HSD, USAREC All Corps Accession Board Convenes.
(b) O/A one week after All Corps Board: Accession Board Results Released. The MS Program Manager will notify the applicant of the selection results and if necessary, request additional information to continue processing.
(c) When applicable, Request for Orders (RFO) will be submitted to the Military Personnel and Readiness Directorate (MPRD), Human Resources Command (HRC) to continue processing into the RA. HRC will reach out to the officer regarding duty assignment and report date.
5. Eligibility:
a. Must meet general eligibility requirements IAW AR 601-100, AR 135-100, and AR 135-101 as appropriate.
b. Must meet physical requirements for appointment as an active duty commissioned officer prescribed in AR 40-501, chapter 2, and be within the height/weight standards prescribed by AR 600-9.
c. Officers must have a valid Physical Health Assessment (PHA) and Immunization Medical Records (IMR). This is not waivable.
d. Must have a Medical Readiness Classification (MRC) of 1 or 2 and be in a deployable status. This is not waivable.
e. Must be a current USAR/ARNG Medical Functional Area (MFA) 70 series MS officer listed in Paragraph 6. This is not waivable.
f. Rank Restriction: Officer applicants must be in the grade of O-3 or O-4. Captains that are promotable or become promotable after submitting their application must notify the MS Program Manager, so the correct Active-Duty scroll is submitted for approval. Note: Incorrect scroll submissions will delay orders production. This is not waivable.
g. Promotion year groups (PYG) listed below. PYG 2015-2018 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

6. Application Process: Officers must contact the MS Program Manager at USARMY Ft Knox USARD List HSD RcHS CV MS usarmy.knox.usard.list.hsd-rchs-cv-ms@army.mil. Packets must contain the following subject line: FY26-27 ARNG/USAR to RA Application: Last Name, First Name Middle Initial. Packets must be uploaded as one PDF. Do NOT make the packet into a portfolio. Any submissions with the PDF created as a portfolio will not be reviewed and returned without action. Application packets are to include the following documents:
a. CV/Resume
b. Transcripts. Applicants must submit official copies of transcripts from all attended higher education institutions, including degree conferred transcripts as applicable.
c. Letters of Recommendation (LOR). Applicants must submit at least 2, but not more than 4 LORs with signatures (wet or digital) from individuals qualified to evaluate the officer’s ability, such as commanders/supervisors, university professors, and/or senior leaders in supervisory channel. One LOR must be from the first LTC/O-5 or higher commander in the applicant’s chain of command.
d. Personal Statement of Motivation: Applicants will submit a letter explaining why they want to come onto active duty. All statements should be no more than one page in length.
e. Soldier Talent Profile (STP). Applicants will submit a redacted STP, which replaced the Soldier Record Brief (SRB) through the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A). In accord with Army guidance, applicants must redact their STP by removing their photo and all data identifying race, ethnicity, and gender.
f. Army Fitness Test (AFT) Scorecard – DA Form 705 with DA Form 5500/5501 (if applicable). Must be within 12 months of application submission.
g. Prior service records. Applicants must provide a copy of their last three Officer Evaluations Reports (OER).
h. Commissioning physical. Applicants must provide a copy of their PHA and IMR.
i. Approved conditional release: Applicants must follow the approval guidance from their respective components and component-specific approval authority for conditional release. Applicants will not board without an approved conditional release. This is not waivable.
