a. MILPER MESSAGE 25-172, PENDING ASSIGNMENT (PENDASG) RESTRICTION CODE FOR SOLDIERS CONSIDERED FOR ASSIGNMENTS IN OR OUT OF A MARKET, ISSUED: [12 MAY 25]. In order to clarify execution of the 24-month retirement pilot and to reduce friction in assignment markets, the Army has implemented a Pending Assignment (PENDASG) Restriction Code to identify Soldiers that have been officially notified of assignment consideration. Communication from HRC informing the Soldier that they are being considered for assignment in or out of the market is considered official notification of assignment consideration and will result in a PENDASG restriction being added to the Soldier's record in IPPS-A. Soldiers entering a market will receive official notification and PENDASG restriction added to their file between 30 and 60 days prior to market opening. Soldiers being considered for a nominative or other assignment outside the market will have a PENDASG restriction code added to their file when notified of assignment consideration. https://actnow.army.mil/forums/html/topic?id=6eb0f85e-1a69-4e1b-9a2e-af1d8453df75
