S1NET Message Summary - 28 Sep 22

1. NEW DA FORM 31 (SEP 2022).  In June 2022, US Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) identified the necessity for a new leave Combination category in Block 8 of DA Form 31 (Request and Authority for Leave). A new DA Form 31 (SEP 2022) was published on/about 26 September 2022. Block 8 [Type of Absence] added the new Combination category, based on USAREC’s request: "PCS/Annual Leave and Recruiting Assistance Leave." Updates were also made to the Instructions page, item 7 [Leave Extensions], providing updated ATAC contact information. The new DA Form 31 is available at the following link. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1192165  2. USE THE THREE C’S OF COMMUNICATION TO NAVIGATE TOUGH CONVERSATIONS. From the Army Resiliency Directorate:  Disagreements are bound to happen in any relationship. Learning to navigate tough conversations is part of having healthy relationships. The difficulty is that differences in opinion can sometimes lead to strong negative emotions--such as anger, resentment or disgust--that have the potential to derail discussions. We may start to yell to get our point across, attack the other person (instead of talking through the issue) or even shut down altogether. When tensions rise, it’s important to use the three C’s of communication–confidence, clarity and control–as well as other skills learned from the Master Resilience Training course. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1191936 3.
