S1NET Message Summary - 4/18/2024

1. PCS’ing TO ITALY? From US Army Southern European Task Force – Africa:  The SETAF-AF G-1 has asked that we remind those PCS’ing to Italy of specific requirements, and how to avoid issues to ensure a smooth transition. 

     1) Approved Command Sponsorship is required for all Eligible Family Members accompanying both U.S. Military and DoD Civilians on tours to Italy.

     2) An Official (maroon) or No-Fee Regular (blue) passports with the "Missione" visa affixed, prior to arrival in Italy. Personnel who fail to obtain the "Missione" visa prior to arrival in Italy must depart the Schengen territory and return to the US or their country of origin, at their own expense, in order to obtain the necessary visa.

     3) IET Soldiers must have an approved absence request form in their possession upon departure from school enroute to Italy.

     a. FY24 LTG ELLIS D. PARKER AWARD. The United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) is soliciting nominations for the FY24 LTG Ellis D. Parker Award. The LTG Ellis D. Parker Award, a Department of the Army level award, recognizes excellence at the battalion level. The Parker Award is divided into four categories based on unit mission: Combat (C), Combat Support (CS), Combat Service Support (CSS), and Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA). One winner will be selected as the “Top Aviation Battalion” in each category. The winners of each category will compete for the title of “LTG Ellis D.      b. ENTRY-LEVEL STATUS, 6 APR 24.  Memo from the Army G-1:  On 23 June 2022, DoDI 1332.14, Change 7, was published. This instruction updated the definition of “Entry-Level Status,” specifically extending its duration, effective 24 December 2022. On 23 May 23, I approved an exception to policy to AR 635-200 regarding the definition of entry-level status. It recognizes the training limitations imposed on MOS 15W UAS Operators by RQ-7 Shadow divestment, in accordance with HQDA EXORD 178-24, and reflects the EXORD’s direction to maintain incentive pay for qualified/eligible tactical UAS personnel during the equipment gap.
