1. CSM MICHAEL WEIMER
SELECTED AS 17TH SERGEANT MAJOR OF THE ARMY. Army News: Chief of Staff
of the Army Gen. James C. McConville announced today (12 Dec 22) that
CSM Michael R. Weimer will serve as the 17th Sergeant Major of the Army.
SGM Weimer will assume responsibility from SMA Michael Grinston in
August 2023. Until then, SGM Weimer will continue to serve as the senior

COURSE SCHEDULING PROCEDURES. From HRC Military Schools Branch: Update
to our course scheduling procedures published in MILPER Message 22-489,
summarized in para 8d below. Please understand these procedures will be
vastly different in terms of deferment procedures once IPPS-A goes live.
We will publish a new message ahead of any required changes. As of now,
the templates on our website are on the old DA Form 4187. Please use
that format on the new DA Form 4187. We will not kick back any requests

4. REGULAR ARMY NCO SLC AND MLC SCHEDULING AS OF NOVEMBER 2022. From HRC
Military Schools Branch: To provide transparency and manage
expectations, Military Schools Branch releases monthly statistics of
Soldiers scheduled for SLC by MOS and the Evaluation Board Order of
Merit List (OML). These numbers reflect the last OML number that has
been used to schedule a Soldier in November 2022 by MOS. In those
instances where no training seats are available, the number shown is
