S1NET Message Summary - 4/4/2024

1. INFORMATION FOR SOLDIERS PCS’ING TO EUROPE:  NATO TRAVEL ORDERS AND PET TRAVEL INFORMATION.  From the 1st Theater Personnel Operations Center (1TPOC):  https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1315350

     a. NATO Travel Orders for Soldiers PCS’ing to Europe. Please note that NATO Orders are mandatory for Soldiers' flights when PCS’ing to Europe. These orders are crucial as they ensure the protection of Soldiers and their Families under the Status of Forces Agreements between the U.S. Government and host nations. Without these orders, Soldiers and Family members will not be allowed to fly on the AMC Patriot Express. Military Personnel Divisions (MPDs) must take the lead in generating NATO orders and providing necessary guidance to Soldiers. Unit S1s/G1s, sponsors, and sponsorship coordinators must communicate this requirement with Soldiers to minimize delays and hardships associated with PCS moves.

     b. Pet Travel Information: For Soldiers and Families PCS’ing to Europe, it is essential to carefully read all AMC Patriot Express/DOD Pet Transportation guidelines. This guide on the AMC website contains valuable information about the processes necessary to bring beloved pets to Europe. Following it will ensure a smooth journey and prevent delays and issues on flight day.

2. NEW REIMBURSEMENT FOR PET TRAVEL FEES EFFECTIVE 1 JAN 24.  Jan 1, 2024 brings a new entitlement for personnel with pets during a PCS move.  Service members and families may now submit associated expenses for reimbursement during their PCS voucher process. The entitlement is for only one pet (dog or cat) and is limited to $2,000 for an overseas move or $550 for movement within the United States.  Travelers using AMC Patriot Express missions will receive a memo receipt for pet travel fees.  For guidance on pet expense reimbursement due to a PCS, refer to the Joint Travel Regulations, Chapter 5, Part A, Paragraph 050107. It is important to note that this entitlement must be on your PCS orders in order to claim reimbursement.  Visit the following link for more information. https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1315382

3. IPPS-A UPDATE: PAI EXTENDED, AOS PLAYBOOK, TRAINING ENVIRONMENTS, MODS, HR PROCESSING STAGE, ATRRS, SEPS, DRIVE THE CHANGE, RESOURCES. From COL Rebekah Lust, IPPS-A FMD Director: See the entire update at the following link.  Some key points in this update are provided below:  https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-1315057

     a. ENHANCEMENT REQUESTS.  Submitting enhancement requests is critical to enhancing the system and making IPPS-A work best for you and your fellow Soldiers. Just recently, CPT Alysa Nantarojanaporn, 89 MP Bde, CPT Timothy Donegan, B CO 1-13th AvnCoE, and SSG Nathalie Orion, 10th MTN Division, brought to our attention an issue that is preventing supporting documentation from being attached to Career Skills Program (CSP) absence requests. Because they submitted enhancement requests, our team will be able to assess the issue and identify the best possible solution. You will see an update on this in a future release. Thank you all for truly making IPPS-A a Soldier system! Remember to provide your Enhancement Requests to the Team through Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

     b. PERSONNEL ASSET INVENTORY (PAI) EXTENDED. The deadline for submitting PAI statuses is now 15 May 2024 for the Active Component and 31 May 2024 for COMPOs 2 and 3.

     c. ARMY ORGANIZATION SERVER (AOS) PLAYBOOK. The AOS Playbook Version 1.4 provides users with an introductory overview of the AOS system along with the knowledge required to view, edit, and validate organization structure data.

     d. MEDICAL OPERATIONAL DATA SYSTEM (MODS) AND IPPS-A. Many of you have submitted CRM cases pertaining to the inconsistencies between MODS and IPPS-A. We are aware of the issue and a repopulation of the MODS data will occur shortly. We will provide an update once the issue is resolved.

     e. HR PROCESSING STAGE REMOVAL. There has been some confusion in the field about the HR Processing stage in IPPS-A. This stage is now gone from all PARs except for the Admin Records Correction PAR. Please note that the Admin Records Correction PAR is the only PAR requiring follow-on actions for S1 Pool members. Please refer to the attached slide for a visualization.

     f. ARMY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS AND RESOURCES SYSTEM (ATRRS) DATA AND IPPS-A. Barring any irregularities, IPPS-A typically updates daily with inbound data from the ATRRS. The inbound processing of data into IPPS-A drives transactions in the system, and it is critical to let the process run its course. Manually adding data that will eventually come over from other systems (e.g., data for Enlisted Professional Military Education [EPME], Military Occupational Specialty [MOS] qualifications, Advanced Individual Training [AIT], etc.) can have negative impacts. I am attaching Interface Timelines (at the above link) to help the field understand when IPPS-A is scheduled to pull information from other systems.

     g. SINGLE EVALUATION PROCESSING (SEPS) DATA MISSING. We have identified an issue where IPPS-A is not receiving the entirety of SEPS data, which is causing these values to remain blank within some SM’s records. We are actively evaluating the problem to implement a fix. Please note that field users should not manually enter data in blank fields, as this information may be lost due to system updates.

     h. DRIVE THE CHANGE CHANNEL. If you are looking for more IPPS-A information, join the Drive the Change channel on MS Teams! You will get updates, training information, and job aids for new releases.
