The Joint staff, Director for Manpower and Personnel, endorsement request from the Chief of Staff, U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (GWOT-EM) and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (GWOT-SM) are authorized for award to qualifying Service members per the USAFRICOM Counterterrorism Execute Order.
