This message prescribes impending policy and assigns responsibilities to implement the DOD Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program, which empowers commanders to advocate for Soldiers and their family members and to provide easy access to a continuum of non–medical counseling support. The program provides non–medical counseling services to service members, their families, and survivors on installations and in communities worldwide. The MFLC program supports face–to–face, telephonic, virtual though military Onesource, secure online chat or live video sessions around service member and families’ schedules. Active duty, national guard, and reserve service members, their families, and survivors receive up to 12 sessions per concern.
