The purpose of this message is to provide clarification on the level of appointment for Unit Voting Assistance Officers. AR 608-20, dated 26 April 2025, The Army Voting Assistance Program requires Unit Voting Assistant Officers (UVAO) be appointed, in writing, at each level of command. This message makes a change to this requirement. The new requirement states that one UVAO be appointed at the Brigade level. Additional UVAOs will be appointed at the Commander's discretion. For Units with less than 25 Servicemembers, no UVAOs need to be appointed.
