2. Recruiting plays a critical role in maintaining the Army’s readiness and strength. The negative impact of deletions, deferments, and no-shows of Soldiers on assignment to detailed recruiting continue to hamper the Army’s ability to meet this priority. It is critical that leaders at echelon not only assist in reducing deletions, deferments, and no-shows, but also encourage NCOs to become recruiters.
